I haven’t been around much this summer – there’s something about this season that really encourages me to stay busy and I rarely stop to reflect or blog. But that doesn’t mean I haven’t been writing. In fact, I’m pleased to announce that my second book should be out by the end of the year! It’s a work of romantic suspense, which is a big departure for me, but I’m really proud of it and can’t wait to share! In the meantime, enjoy my latest painting…

April 2022 has been a great month! This is the third short story I’ve had published this month! So, if you’re interested, feel free to head over to CafeLit to read “A World Without Magic.”

Since it’s unseasonably cold out right now, it seems appropriate to share the news that my short story “Greetings from Krampus” is now available to read at The Chamber Magazine! If you choose to give it a read, I hope you enjoy it!

I have some exciting news! Two more of my stories have been accepted by publishers and will be available in April!
On April 1st, my short story, “Greetings from Krampus” will be published in the The Chamber Magazine. Yes, it’s technically Christmas-themed horror which I think makes it perfect for an April Fool’s Day launch! Then on April 18th, my magical realism short story, “I Drown Each Time” will debut on Fiction on the Web.
I’ll post links to the stories once they’re available online, but I was excited and wanted to share!

Well, winter feels well underway here in Ohio. The leaves are fading from their brilliant hues and falling faster and faster. And as the seasons change and the sunlight seems more fleeting, I’m forced to spend more time indoors. This time of reflection seems the perfect chance to focus once again on poetry, so I wanted to share an update regarding my big passion project, the poetry-themed literary journal Ephemeral Elegies.
We are nearing the end of our second year of publication! I want to give a big shout out to our 663 subscribers and nearly 13,000 visitors. I love seeing poets and readers from around the world comment and encourage one another on the posts! Truly, the online poetry community is one the warmest, most inclusive, best places to be and I’m honored for the opportunity to play a small role.
Submissions for 2022 are open! I’m thrilled to finally be caught up on my email, and now I’m ready for some more. So, if you’re a seasoned, emerging, or brand new poet, please hop on over to our Submissions Page and consider sending us something. I especially love supporting new voices.
Ephemeral Elegies is subtitled “The Poetry of Emotion” because we often focus on the raw exploration of trauma and the grittier parts of life. I know the ongoing global pandemic has impacted everyone, and we’d especially love to see new poems about this experience.
